Up to 160 pro-democracy protestors were killed and about 100 women and girls raped at the Conakry Stadium on September 28, 2009 by riot policemen and government soldiers under Camara’s regime.

A statement by the justice ministry on Wednesday evening said government has issued the court a notice to facilitate the audition of the former junta leader who is in self-exile in Burkina Faso.

Camara has already been heard by a Burkinabé magistrate upon the request of Guinea.
