Popular soukous singer Koffi Olomide is quickly learning how long the arm of the law is. Unless you’ve been living on a deserted island the last couple of days, you must know that the legendary Congolese singer has been having a rather rough go of it lately, all as a result of kicking one of his female dancers in the groin at Nairobi’s JKIA airport. It was the “kick” seen around the world and Kenyans wasted no time in throwing Olomide out of their country.

Now, days after he arrived in Kinshasa under a cloud of shame, comes news that Olomide has been arrest by police officers at his home to face assault charges over the incident in Nairobi.

The arrest apparently came as a shock to Olomide too. Reports say the singer wasn’t even fully dressed when the authorities arrived at his home to execute the arrest order issued by the chief prosecutor.

But perhaps Olomide needn’t have been so surprised. He wasn’t given the warmest of welcomes in Kinshasa after being deported from Nairobi.

Olomide, to put it mildly, is not pleased. A video has emerged showing him shouting in French after his arrest this morning.
