In an amazing story, Hope, the abandoned two-year-old Nigerian toddler, accused of being a witch by his family members and shunned by the community in Uyo has bounced back, making a remarkable recovery.

The boy was rescued in January by Anja Ringgren Lovén, a humanitarian worker who founded the African Children’s Aid Education and Development Foundation in Nigeria.

The heart-wrenching pictures of the sick boy being given food and water by Ringgren Lovén caused a sensation.

Few people would have thought Hope would survive, including his rescuer Ringgren Lovén who wrote on her Facebook account : “The day I carried this sweet little boy in my arms for the very first time I was so sure he would not survive”.
