In celebration of Women’s Day, Angola will tomorrow host its first women-only marathon on Saturday March 29.

With the gun going off just after sunrise, the race will commence from various parts of the capital Luanda under the celebration of the the national and international Women’s Day , marked 2 and 8 March respectively.

During the official launch of the event, HOD of Luanda Provincial Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Guilhermina Cruz estimated a participation of over 1000 runners, professionals, amateurs, members of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) and state police (PNA) and other interested ladies.
