Steve Forlajimi Amu, popularly known in the Nigerian￼music industry as DJ Jimmy Jatt has shown that he is truly an industry big name, when he brushed Tuface Idibia’s ‘Ascension’ off the ITunes Nigeria Album Chart.
DJ Jimmy Matt dropped his second album, ‘The Industry’ alongside ‘Avantgarde’, a biography, to celebrate 25 years behind the wheels last week. The beatmaker had worked with many Nigerian acts like Daddy Showkey, Plantashun Boiz (2face, Blackface and Faze), Olu Maintain, amongst others. Jatt is the first contemporary Nigerian musician to publish a biography.
Jatt’s most celebrated single in the album, titled ‘Glasses Up’ features Afropop stars like 2Face Idibia, Sound Sultan and Burna Boy.
DJ Jatt’s first album, titled ‘The Definition’ also did so well in 2007. The album climbed up many charts with the single ‘Styles’ featuring rap dawgs Modenine, Elajoe and singer, 2Face.
