South Africa: The end is nigh for President Jacob Zuma as ANC confirms his recall

The seemingly impossible has happened, the African National Congress (ANC)’s National Executive Committee (NEC) has confirmed that it has recalled President #JacobZuma, signalling the beginning of the end of President Zuma’s interminable term as president of South Africa. “The decision of the #ANCNEC to recall Cde Zuma is final. It can’t and will not change. We will treat Cde Zuma with dignity and we will not humiliate him” ANC Secretary General Ace Magashule said.


Bob Marley’s statue to be built in Zimbabwe

Robert Nester Marley is no doubt an icon. In 1980, he performed in Zimbabwe during the independence day celebrations, the only African country in which he performed at independence day. He also sang a song, ‘Zimbabwe’ in 1978 for the Zimbabwean freedom fighters. There are plans underway to build a statue in Zimbabwe in honour of Bob Marley.


Rising African star: Rwandan cyclist Joseph Areruya wins La Tropicale Amissa Bongo

Rising African cycling star Joseph Areruya, 22, has made history as the first Rwandan to win the biggest cycling race on the UCI-Africa Tour, the La Tropicale Amissa Bongo, which concluded in Gabon on Sunday. The Rwandan is the third African to win the Tropicale and the first to achieve this performance with the jersey of his national team. Congratulations on the remarkable feat.
