Ethiopian Airlines Group upgrades Aviation Academy
Ethiopian Airlines Group has revamped its Aviation Academy, investing US$100 million in the project. The Academy will have an annual intake capacity of 4,000 students, which will reinforce its position as the largest and the finest Aviation Academy in Africa
Ethiopian Airlines Group has inaugurated its recently upgraded Aviation Academy. The group invested US$100 million in the upgrade project. With an annual intake capacity of 4,000 students, thanks to the expansion, the school will reinforce its position as the largest and finest Aviation Academy in Africa according to a statement.
The refurbished academy has five training schools, which include the pilot training school, aviation maintenance training school, commercial and ground service school and leadership school.
The expanded academy also has several flight simulators, the B-777, B-787, B-737, B-767/757 and the Q-400, which enables the academy to offer full type rating trainings for pilots as an authorised training organisation.

Last month, the Ethiopian Airlines Aviation Academy graduated 14 pilots, 53 aviation technicians, 38 marketing agents and 38 cabin crew, including nine trainee pilots from Rwanda three of which are female.
Ethiopian Airlines, which is the largest and most profitable airline in Africa, has continued to expanding as competing African airlines are mired in heavy losses. The airline has pursued an aggressive expansion strategy, which has quickly transformed the carrier into the continent’s leading airline, unrivalled in efficiency and operational success.
