This Is Africa, Open Book Cape Town and #cocreateSA hosted four acclaimed authors for a Meet and Greet evening on Friday. Guests were treated to book presentations, Q&As, readings and spoken word poetry
It was an evening of literature, poetry, food and wine with a backdrop of beautiful views from the V&A Waterfront’s Watershed on Friday September 11. Open Book Cape Town authors, the Nigerian writer Okey Ndibe (Foreign Gods, Inc), Dutch author Saskia Goldschmidt (The Hormone Factory), South African musician and author Nakhane Touré (Piggy Boy’s Blues) and Kenyan author Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor (Dust) discussed their books with This Is Africa‘s Nancy Onyango. They also took questions from the floor posed by a much-enthused and diverse audience kept up to speed by the brilliant MC, Didintle Ntsie.
Adrian “Diff” van Wyk and Juzaida Swain dazzled and moved the audience with incisive, eloquent words in their solo spoken word poetry presentations. Check out images below of what went down.
