In an interview with America’s TMZ, Kanye West revealed that he would be postponing the release of his upcoming album, Yandhi, to 23 November and is heading to Africa in two weeks to work on its completion.
Speaking about the album, he said, “We have concepts dealing with body-shaming and women being looked down upon for how many people they have slept with. It’s just a full Ye album and those five albums I dropped earlier were like superhero rehabilitation. Now the alien Ye is fully back in mode…”
Elaborating on his decision to complete the album on the continent, he said, “I felt this energy when I was in Chicago. I felt the roots. But we have to go to what is known as Africa. I just need to go and even find out what it is really called.”
”(I want to) just grab the soil and cook food five times a day so that my metabolism stays up, and have my kids in the studio and have the mics out in the open so that you can hear nature while we’re recording.”

Upon hearing the news of West’s imminent arrival, Africans on Twitter took the time to let the rapper know that the trip may not be what he was bargaining on.

And as if the MAGA madness was not bad enough, the album Kanye seeks to finish in Africa is partially named after Mahatma Gandhi, known for his anti-black views and promotion of racial segregation.
In 1893, Gandhi wrote to the Natal parliament in South Africa, saying that a “general belief seems to prevail in the Colony that the Indians are little better, if at all, than savages or the Natives of Africa”. Then in 1904, he wrote to a health officer in Johannesburg that the council “must withdraw Kaffirs” from an unsanitary slum called “Coolie Location” where a large number of Africans lived alongside Indians. “About the mixing of the Kaffirs with the Indians, I must confess I feel most strongly.”
