Primary School Tanouan Ibi : Mali
Inspired by the local vernacular Dogon architecture, Tanouan Ibi was constructed in a sustainable way using Hydraulic Compressed Earth Blocks (HCEB).
Soil from the site was used to make non-fired building blocks, which significantly reduced the costs and impact to the environment. The bricks can withstand high temperatures and high rainfall better than the traditional clay buildings.
