The Passenger Choice Award was created by the US-based Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) to give a voice to airline passengers. It encompasses a survey of passengers in 13 languages, and it is the customers themselves who rate airlines based on their overall experience.
The airline was a finalist in a number of other categories including “Best in Region: Africa”, “Best Inflight Publication”, “Best Inflight Video” and “Best Food & Beverage”.
The Addis Ababa Bole International Airport is the major hub for Ethiopia’s air traffic, and is one of the largest airports in Africa. The ultra modern airport terminal was constructed in 2003.

Ethiopian Airlines won the SKYTRAX award based on the largest airport customer survey, and the Passenger Choice Award, for the first time, in 2013. The company has registered an average growth of 25pc a year over the past seven years.
