American musician, Madonna has hit back a critics over images portraying iconic figures such as Nelson Mandela in bondage. The images which were posted on her Facebook page and Twitter account are meant to mirror the cover for her latest album, ‘Rebel Heart’.
The photoshopped images depict Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King in bondage. The images resemble the singer’s latest album cover which shows Madonna’s face criss-crossed with black hands.
Saying that the images were submitted by fans, Madonna denied comparing herself to the iconic figures.
“I’m sorry, I’m not comparing my self to anyone…I’m admiring and acknowledging there Rebel Hearts…This is niether [sic] a crime or an insult or racist!” said the musician.
There are quite a number who weren’t too pleased however.
