“It’s a beautiful aircraft,” says Capt Mutungi, who has been with Kenya Airways for 19 years, flying 737s, 767s, and now the Dreamliner. “It’s amazing to fly.”

“I just hope this is an inspiration to women,” she says, “especially African women, to show them that anything is possible.

The Dreamliner is Boeing’s most fuel-efficient airliner and the world’s first major airliner to use composite materials as the primary material in the construction of its airframe. It is one of the most technologically advanced commercial airplanes available on the market.
