Oukaimeden: Africa’s highest ski resort

Have you ever thought of visiting a ski resort within the African continent, well there is one that you should definitely explore, Oukaimeden, in Morocco and it’s really a breath-taking place. Oukaimeden, is the highest ski resort in Africa, nestled in Morocco’s snow-capped Atlas Mountains.

Oukaimeden (sitting at 2,600m) is one of Morocco’s natural treasures and its best ski resort. The resort is Africa’s highest reaching 10,734 feet (3,200m), situated atop the magnificent snow-capped Atlas Mountains.

Oukaimeden is located about 80 kilometres from Marrakesh, one of Morroco’s vibrant cities (Marrakesh is the host city of the UN COP22 climate change conference).

If you are not afraid of heights, Oukaimeden is definitely a place to explore and experience one of Morocco’s natural wonders. The resort’s single chairlift can take you to the peak of of Jebel Attar, reaching the remarkable height of 3,258m.
