In this week’s cartoon, a crisis within a crisis has been unfolding in Ukraine. Racial discrimination and intolerance reached its peak as it mostly targeted African students and other foreigners. #AfricansinUkraine are reporting racist treatment as they try to flee the Ukrainian war. Some security and border guards are reportedly demanding money or blocking their crossing, and Africans have been placed at the bottom of the priority list for refugees. The treatment of stranded African students and migrants has been heavily criticised by African officials.
