He has been arrested several times before by President Yoweri Museveni’s government for his politics and activism.

Ugandan legislator Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine is currently under house arrest. Bobi Wine disclosed on social media that his house had been surrounded by the police and the military, and he has been barred from leaving his home.

“Police and the military have been deployed army residence since yesterday, after the violent arrest. My home is under siege. They have surrounded my fence and installed barricades on all roads leading to my home,” Bobi Wine wrote on Twitter.

“It is today when I attempted to move out of my home that the police told me that I am under house arrest. I was headed to Police headquarters in Naguru to deliver a notification about our planned peaceful demonstrations against police brutality, injustice and misuse of authority,” he added.
